In New York, electrical licensing is issued at the county level, and the title Master Electrician is the highest classification. Many shops you find online are run by journeyman electricians or general contractors who subcontract the electrical work out. That is not how RJ & Son Electric works.

Do you charge for a quote?
No. Quotes on standard residential work are free. For larger projects such as full rewires or commercial buildouts, we may schedule a paid site visit for a detailed scope, and the visit fee may be credited back if you move forward with us.

Do you handle EV charger installs?
Yes. EV charger installation is one of our most-requested jobs. We install Level 1 and Level 2 chargers from major brands and check whether your existing panel can support the load before quoting.
My breaker keeps tripping. Is that an emergency?
It depends. A breaker that trips once during a thunderstorm may be fine to reset. A breaker that trips repeatedly, will not reset, or trips with a burning smell is a sign of a real fault and should be looked at the same day.
Can you pull permits?
Yes. Any work that legally requires a permit, including panel changes, service upgrades, new circuits, and additions, gets pulled and inspected.
